Winchester Photographic Society was founded in 1923 by a group of prominent local photographers and the then Headmaster of Winchester College, Dr.M.J.Rendall was elected the first President. Since then, it has met continuously in various venues in the City and held a major annual Exhibition in Spring/Early Summer which is open to photographers, amateur and professional, from all over the world. Membership is open to anyone interested in photography, whether a skilled professional or a "holiday snapshooter" or any level in between. The objectives of the Society are to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience within the membership and to offer Lectures and Demonstrations by visiting experts on a wide range of photographic topics, including the now almost universal technique of Digital Imaging on home computers. In addition there are regular Competitions, Workshops, Advice Clinics and Outings to places of Photographic interest. We are one of the largest clubs in the South of England with well over 120 members and if you are interested in any aspect of Photography, and as a visitor to this website we think you must be, why not join us in the Discovery Centre, Jewry Street on Tuesday evenings from September to May at 7-30pm. Please call any one of these members for more information:
