We believe that competitions play an important part in the Society's activities. The Society is affiliated  to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB), and thereby enjoys contact with a large number of other photographic clubs and societies. The main contact is with clubs in the Southern Photographic Federation (SPF), within which the Society plays an active part in inter-club competitions. These competitions provide members with contact with enthusiasts from other clubs and also the benefit of seeing high quality work from other clubs and receiving constructive criticism from qualified judges.

Members who wish are able to take part in the Society's internal competitions and benefit from the advice of an external judge. We do not make any distinction between digitally or chemically produced work.
